May 3 – Botany and Birds at the Swampside Tract

May 3 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am

Guided by Maureen Mulligan, local botanist, you can join us for a spring flora and summer migrant bird hike focusing on those plants that are emerging for the year as well as the birds who are visiting us for the summer. Participants will hike a portion of the preserve and visit some of the diverse ecosystems it has to offer.  Fresh water swamps and upland forests await those who want to explore by foot.
This 3 hour event will cover about 3 miles of either crushed granite or grassy trails, but going off trail into the woods is an option so wear good shoes.  Bring your own water, wear sturdy shoes, and dress for the weather in comfortable layers.  Free of charge.
Gates open at 8:00, hike starts at 8:30 when the front gate is locked.  Late comers will not be admitted.
